Accepting the Enlightenment means rejecting cultural relativism in all its forms…

…and with that the author has just glossed over the cause and source of the sort of of cultural relativism that justifies and empowers views like those coming out of our Universities, the Guardian, and ABC/SBS i.e. the progressive left.

Relativism, the idea that truth is a historically conditioned notion that does not transcend cultural boundaries, has existed since the Greek era, some 2400 years ago. Relativism contends that all truth is relative except for the claim that “truth is relative.” Cultural relativism wrongly claims that each culture has its own distinct but equally valid mode of perception, thought, and choice.

Cultural relativism, is the complete opposite of the enlightenment, it contends there is no such thing as absolute right and wrong. There is only right and wrong as specified by the moral code of each society. Within a particular society, a standard of right and wrong can be inviolate. Cultural relativism maintains that man’s opinion within a given culture defines what is right and wrong.

Cultural Relativism forms the Bedrock of Multiculturalism, racism, postmodernism, deconstructionism, political correctness, and social engineering all of which are among cultural relativism’s “intellectual” descendants.

You cannot say your despise the cultural relativism that the ABC has embraced without also criticising the pursuit and propagation of MultiCult as a social policy.

Multiculturalism has been a long-running experiment, which was introduced as a competitor to pluralism and cultural blending, and it has failed utterly. It doesn’t work. The mutual sharing of cultures within a single polity produces innovation…. MultiCult is a social cancer built upon the sands of Cultural Relativism and ultimately works to dissolve “Trust” the foundation stone upon which all societies are built. Trust in genuine shared values is the stone upon which all commerce and higher order relationships within a society or economy are built out from.

This fragmentation or pluralization social subjectivism has developed to the point where today’s multiculturalists claim that groups create their own reality based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, etc. The furor over the ABC over the weekend and its justification for the simultaneous use of “Invasion Day” and “Australia Day” as legitimate cultural viewpoints is but a single example.

Each multicultural subgroup has its own reality, its own logic, its own truth and falsity, and its own right and wrong. It is therefore impossible to discuss, argue, or judge any one group’s truth as better than any other. With no way to reason among the groups, the only alternatives are either isolationism or group warfare through which political power is used to slug out group differences…. this is the reality of MultiCult.

Accepting MultiCult as being part of the enlightenment is completely wrong – it is the antithesis of enlightenment. You cannot say you are on the side of enlightenment, while simultaneously supporting a critical social policy founded in cultural relativism.
