I actually had the opposite experience a couple weeks ago in another Uber.

What would you do or say to a sibling who owns a $3m house, draws against his mortgage to maintain “status” with new German car and latest electronics, frequent holidays to USA, spends nearly every weekend renovating part of his house, and then gets upset with me for gifting “too much” (only a few hundred) to a nephew or niece who needs financially assistance with their newborn?
