Looks like my predictions from a few days ago have come true, and just at the right time. Explosions are being heard in various cities across Ukraine, including the capital Kiev. So far Russia has signalled a clear intent to enter the Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts for “peacekeeping” purposes, but I think Russia’s president Putin intends to occupy the entire country. Ignorance of the strength of Russia’s military capacities in the West (and probably Ukraine) is goading many Ukranians to their doom, as I have observe multiple stories over the past few days in the ABC and elsewhere praising random grandmas and other hapless civilians being trained in small-arms weapons for the purposes of fighting the invasion. It is sad to say that most of these people, if they are ever unlucky enough to “see” combat, will be incinerated by Russian weapons’ systems miles away. Most casualties in modern major state wars result from explosives, artillery and rocketry; the idea that there is going to be meaningful rifle to rifle, building to building combat here is a fantasy of a media that gets its ideas on contemporary warfare and maneuver from real time strategy games, if even that.
EZFKA’s placeholder managers have leapt at the opportunity to pretend they matter on the global stage, announcing some meaningless sanctions from Australia on Russia. I wonder what this could mean? What does Australia possibly produce that Russia doesn’t also have in abundance that Russia needs for anything? The same can be said for a lot of other countries sanction threats, which I don’t think will matter all that much to Russia. Mostly what will will result from these sanctions and Ukraine’s foolish intransigence on NATO is more expensive prices at the bowser, even more inflated costs of living and even costs of food (see: ammonium nitrate, for one).
So let’s discuss! What will the outcomes here be? Will it go any further or will Russia just stop at the breakaway republics? I don’t think it will, and I was right before. Are you planning on trading this? What’s your angle?
You made some spot on predictions.
Australia has insulted and humiliated me like a negro under apartheid since COVID started, so I can only cheer on Russia and hope for a smooth transition of power with few lives lost. Certainly Russia will have a difficult time causing the scale of deaths we saw in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan.
Not only under COVID have I been insulted and humiliated but over the past decade or so the rhetoric against white Australians and white history has stepped up a notch. Don’t expect me to fight for or defend this country…EVER!
No doubt this leads to China taking Taiwan like taking candy from a baby in the years to come.
I hate to inform you that being treated as a negro under apartheid is not a bad proposition comparing to being treated as a negro in the most developed country in the world. Probably even by today’s metrics (or should I say “yardics”?).
But it is a digression, I agree to what you wanted to say.
I dare say that there is likelihood that only silly lives will be lost, be it silly by the owner of the said life or by an order of a silly general. In any way, Zelenski is not that stupid, so if another coup changes that, the deaths may change too. Not that the biggest bully did not intervene in the past to protect a good war from a bad peace…
new reports are in (cant confirm) that odessa has been taken, mariupol has been taken, the ukrainian southern front has simply collapsed; this will end even faster than i realised. there may not even be that many casualties at all, i think ukraine will just lie down like a dead dog
Looks like it will be under Russia control by next week or maybe the weekend.
If you look at live cams of Kiev though it all seems like business and usual though.
Southern and Eastern Ukraine has large Russian communities, so there will be little resistance there.
What is opposite from “resistance”?
One should gather that peace keeping forces are welcome in any country.
Inductance?
Not a bad suggestion, but that would be more for overly simplified reverse of impedance…
In this case I seek word for opposite of military ‘resistance’ (aka french translation from english: “dropping rifles”)
Asset prices about to shoot up again ?
for sure we are about to see more QE, junk bond purchases, currency swaps etc
or is this the orchestrated rug pull that we had to have – lot of insiders have been selling stock
My first reaction is what you said upfront – more lowerer rates and financial accommodation of all sorts. For longer.
I am not sure that the rug pull angle appeals to me intuitively.
Gives the central banks to look through inflation and say it is temporary to avoid raising rates
Yep, perfect opportunity to sit on their hands and continue the current monetary policies
This seems much ado about nothing to me
seems like the west probably won’t intervene too hard and just let it go with a bit of hand wringing in the media
Biden just abruptly pulled out of Afghanistan for unknown reasons
so hard to imagine a prolonged proxy war here
Will be interesting to see what China does
I don’t think a Taiwan invasion is on the cards though
If all the foreign meddlers left Taiwan there would be peace and in 50-100 years these would become one country. Money bit, tends to bond unbondable things. ROC has a lot to lose from war. PRC too. OTOH, the third side…
spitballing I’m guessing step one is putin saying east of dnieppe river belong to us…in a time frame of weeks..
step 2 is the rest of ukraine to cop a proxy moscow leaning govt…
timeframe 18months™
edit forgot the trade question. .. trade the volatility energy and ag. commodities
The bit Pyoutin said is that denazification if Ukraina is required for the peace keeping forces to pull out.
Technically there is no break up of Ukraina as yet if the soft power occupied part of Ukraina becomes free and the country can reunify.
The untold (in the west) history of Bosnia/Herzegovina model cannot work any more… ruskies would be overly stupid to allow it
The PM of EZFKA getting up and talking about sanctions with Russia is meaningless. Australia and Russia are commodity exporters and we don’t really sell to each other. Russia’s main customer is Europe and Putin just has to turn the tap off and Europe freezes, so gas won’t form part of sanctions. In which case, the sanctions will be irrelevant.
Campaigners gonna campaign!
Where’s Abbot to shirtfront Vlad? Would be good right about now.
He crawled out of his den few days ago… I guess he’s gone back
I bet it does wonders for Morrison in the polls though
Really depends on how relevant it is to the average politically disengaged EZFKA unit. Bet most wouldn’t be able to identify Ukraine on a map.
Perhaps but surely anything not covid related on the newscycle is a win at this point for Scomo though
Perhaps, but I’d expect this Ukraine invasion to be over fairly quickly. On the domestic front high, cost of living pressures are already biting – fuel prices and food staples have already risen which will be with us for a longer period.
Whule your prediction was spot on, your view that infantry ground combat has been superseded by artillery is wrong. You can’t seize and hold ground with artillery.
Google for “The role of the infantry” for further details. Unless the Ukes all surrender en masse there will undoubtedly be rifle to rifle and building to building combat galore, as there has been in that area for almost a decade now, something most people aren’t aware of.
Some good footage of rifle and building action from Ukraine circa 2015….
https://www.military.com/video/operations-and-strategy/battles/ukraine-war-footage/4526278616001
that’s true but most of the killing is done long range. there may be infantry combat but i feel like most of ukraine will just surrender, i really doubt most of them have the heart in it for a fight.
Perhaps because most will not see this as occupation but rather as something else?
This bit is incomprehensible within westworld’s syndicated media
Lswchp, im really hanging out for your thoughts about what a ground invasion might look like in 2022…
from your above post I get the sense that infantry combat is infantry combat and despite the advances in tech, etc, fundamentally even blokes with WW2 level equipment could put up a good fight against “modern” infantrymen, if morale holds up and it descends to urban house-to-house warfare?
No way the locals hold back the might of the russian invasion. How you beat them is the same way the locals have beat virtually all the superpower invasions since WW2. Guerilla tactics, and a battle of attrition and atrocities.
If you get in a stand up fight with the russians they will bomb or shell you into oblivion.
ikrainians dont have the heart to give a shit. these arent tuff as nails taliban mountain men fighters we’re talking here.
They may not have the heart given the close ties to russia but that is a separate question.
Not sure the vietnamese were tough as nails mountain men either. Even the irish pulled it off in a more gentlemanly way.
Iraq, same result.
Yeah, but spending your whole life working in a paddy field, and living on a bowl of rice a day does tend to toughen you up a bit 🙂
I’d also add that training and motivation count for far more than the equipment carried.
Some interesting viewing:
Shooting to kill – how many men can do this?
And if you are a glutton for punishment and have an hour to spare:
Do better guns improve fighting effectiveness?
Western armies are currently focussed on diversity and transgenderism and other such nonsense.
The Russians are not, and they will want to get it it done, and will use whatever force is required. They won’t be concerned about Rules of Engagement, collateral damage or any of that. The will squash the Ukranians like bugs.
There’s an awful lot of PR in the MSM about the plucky Ukranians fighting the Russians to a standstill, inflicting vast casualties etc. This is nonsense. I think it will all be over in a week or so.
The question then is whether Putin will take advantage of Biden’s senility and EU weakness to have a shot at some NATO turf to demonstrate that NATO is a house of cards and their pact is worthless.
Regarding infantry combat, very little has changed in essence since WW2. The common infantry rifles in the region are direct descendants of the AK47, which was invented in 1947. Same for the automatic weapons, clothing, webbing, small unit tactics etc. The people who fought at Stalingrad and Berlin and all points in between would be entirely familiar with what’s happening in Ukraine today.
russian doctrine emphasizes speed and shock while having an explicitly greater tolerance for losses. you advance along the shortest possible axis to your objective destination and practically ignore everything along the way. watching this war unfold, a lot of their tactical maneuvers have been audacious; i don’t think you would ever see western militaries using their helicopters in the same way for instance.
Thanks for expanding on this
At least this will end COVID talk in the media once and for all.
Maybe the winding back of COVID restrictions across the western world in the past month was about western governments getting wind of this and realising they’ll temporarily need a united pro-government population for an eventual war especially in men under 25.
Hope they draft all the rainbow crowd who switched pronoun to “he”….
Ooh look, them/them took a bullet to the face, looks like they are now in their safe space for good ….
Yes, how many Australian citizens born in Sudan, India, China, will heed the call to arms to defend the nation I wonder? How many newly minted transvestites and lispy bottoms will be there on the front lines?
Or will it be left to the white straight males who have been abused and shamed for the last two decades.
Straight white males of course, who else will step up anyway
Ukrainian troops already deserting en masse if reports are to believed.
Chinese warships in Taiwan waters.
Here comes the han…
here comes the han…
and I say
it’s alright.
Are the EZFKA nuclear submarines ready for service yet?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
We’ll see how much Australia has to say to countries like Russia and China 5 years from now. The US won’t and can’t protect Australian in an invasion.
EZFKA can send a few blokes with jerrycans to pick up the strategic diesel reserves from Texas or wherever 🤣
yup … don’t have to fire one small arm round on australian soil to conquer australia
Lol the ABC has their big guns out to cover the Ukraine story. WTF is Stan Grant doing discussing this story, trying to figure out how to blame Wh!te Australia?
Ukraine is a virutally landlocked nation with a weak economy and a not very good military. Even if Russia takes it by conquest, it won’t matter much to the rest of the world. It’s probably better for the rest of the world if Russia does take over since the fracas over gas pipelines will be firmly resolved. Markets are overreacting. Buy the dip.
probably better for the people of ukraine too. the russian government is likely less corrupt and much more competent. ukraines gdp per capita is 1/2 of russia’s, i’m sure the average ukrainian on the street stands to benefit materially from his ‘new’ russian overlords.
I think this has a while to play out. There’s going to be pockets of resistance. Russia starts losing troops it will become tit for tat.
The vietnamese and the afghanis twice over would beg to differ on that particular assertion. In fact virtually all post WW2 combat has been waged and usually won by irregulars. The deciding factor will be whether the ukrainians actually care about the russians being there or not, and how much if they do.
A superpower can certainly occupy territory with enough soldiers but holding it against the will of the local people for any length of time is a much harder proposition.
ukrainians arent afghanis or vietnamese. theyre basically just polonised russians.
I’d love to see the Australian resistance to a Chinese occupation
i suspect we would curl up in a ball
I think there would be a tickertape parade.
as long as the god-king would promise low interest rates for the duration of the first five-year plan.
Everything east of the divide would for sure
Chechnya?
The Vietnamese and Afghans had two things in common:
1. Given their poor standard of living and outlook for the future, they had nothing to lose by taking up arms to fight, and
2. They were fighting an enemy that was clearly a foreign invader attempting to conquer them and introduce a cultural and governance system totally unlike their traditional and historical background.
These two strong motivational factors do not appear to be evident in Ukraine.
Additionally, their enemies in both instances were from distant lands and faced substantial logistic challenges in maintaining their campaigns, and significant and growing hostility towards the wars within their own populations.
Logistics is not an issue for the Russians in Ukraine, and to date there appears to be no noticeable pushback from the Russian population at home.
Not going to argue with any of that, but it also has nothing to do with what I was responding to.
https://twitter.com/JulianRoepcke/status/1496794231763255297?s=20&t=HVcRLAfJQpHr16jrd7cfHg
“The Ukrainian front in Kherson totally collapsed.
Russian troops reached the Dnepr and do not face any resistance.
I geolocated them 130 km inside Ukraine.
The Ukrainian army says the situation is “difficult”. Understatement of the year.
This is unbelievable.”
so how long before the government flees? i’m giving it till saturday
Nothing will happen kinetically unless NATO gets involved. Otherwise jist a distraction from inflation, rate rises and the WEF starting to delete who it’s members are on its website.
dunno, seems like a biggish deal to me. probably the most major state war since iran-iraq.
Nah. Happy to be wrong it nothing major is happening there despite all the spruiking in the MSM.
They’re already blaming it on inflation and it’s taken covid and Trudeau off the front page.
The WEF seem more than happy to advertise who and what they are, they are either so embedded already that it does not matter what the masses do the outcome is already decided, or they are so arrogant they don’t care what we think as they can just do a Trudeau and sic the gestapo police on us.
No, they are actually deleting their member profiles from the website and obviously haven’t heard of screenshots and the way back machine.
I don’t believe in the meme of inevitability.
If NATO gets involved full scale it will be a massacre of the western ukraina.
I somehow cannot see that NATO members have a stomach for a boot on the ground particularly where the opponent is not defenceless. I am sure all else will be allowed… but Pyoutin must’ve calculated that bit.
My view is that there is a lot of posture.
What I Biden traded interference in Ukraina for the “laptop guy” to be unencumbered by his past and the peace keeping forces are there by an agreement?
This all sounds like buy the dip action to me.
Maybe there’s another 5-10% to be wiped off the S&P and other indexes but that fed printer is waiting also.
ASX was up today. I guess the market assumes the printer stays on for longer.
The mob at CNN are having a wet dream. Poor bustards think they get another decade like 90’s and 20’s…
Maybe, but they lost 75-90% of viewers since Trump left office. I guess they are hoping a war means more viewers, but largely the everyday person is getting on with life. It is only news media post Covid that need something to justify their existence.
Ukraine is critical for sea access and was always part of Russia. When the US installed a puppet govt in Ukraine a few years ago, it was a direct attack on Putin. He’s just saying fuck off.
U sure u want to youse the name which clearly tells everybody that you live in 14 Acacia Str and your real name, ERIC?
i think a lot of the lot saying that talking about this over covid restrix and the usual is a distraction (like avi yemeni) are just upset their grifting is coming to an end. putin is hammering the last nail in the covid regime, the great pandemic hysteria of 2020-2022 is finally coming to an end.
Most interesting part to me is that the CIA and the mainstream media were screaming at us for days that this was about to happen
and literally nobody believed them lmao (except the most brain dead boomers)
just shows that they have less than zero credibility – I automatically assume that whatever they are claiming is the opposite of reality, and my irrational disbelief increases in proportion to the intensity of their messaging
same issue with vaccination I believe
Once you’ve blown up your credibility by being wrong a lot or -especially – by lying (hello, wmds) it’s veeeeeery very hard to get back.
Or jfk
nsw just got rid of indoor masks again today, i think covid is on its final lap; when mandates go this is all done.
Will need a serious scariant if they want to dial the crazy-level back up.
the Russian invasion of Ukraine has given them a new excuse of QE-forever, so the might take this opportunity to let the Chinese flu hysteria fade away.
it would be very interesting to see what happens if China does make an incursion into Taiwan – then EZFKA will have an interesting choice to make on sanctions….
think of all the reject shops that would have to shutter without plastic chinese junk exports
EZFKA units would be FKn impoverished – no cheap Chinese junk AND no export revenue.
yikes
Russian peace mission is important from one perspective that no one seems to dare to say. It marks both an end and a beginning. End of unipolar world and a beginning of what will become 3.67 polar universe.
It is pretty much the biggest event since the disbanding of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance on the 1. July 1991.
Now that the new pole has risen to its level and an intervention precedent is made, the resident bully will have to fight for its turf. I just hope that the things don’t begin to evolve towards the resident bully demise at a speed that will see it resorting to a scorched earth.
The world seems to be peaceful proportionally to the number of poles on the influence map.
Fuck mang, you’re so triggered by this lol posting wild shit all over this thread.
Why don’t you fuck off back to the shithole continent you come from
Sums up the whole conflict
Trump says that Putin’s move was genius in how he out smarted the Biden administration.
CNN – Trump and Putin invade Ukraine on horseback together with their shirts off ….
Hilarious to read DLS galaxy brain take on Ukraine this morning : essentially his interpretation is use it as an excuse to start a Cold War with China
“Vote Albo!”
Ps couldn’t read his take because ideas too busy scrolling past Gunna’s 5 trillion word diatribe he typed with one hand.
Imagine the value for money the people of Geelong are getting from gunna right now
probably WFH, furiously posting pro-Russian diatribes , while collecting his top band public service salary
Considering what has happened from 2020 to 2022 in the world and on that blog it was hilarious to read him typing about liberal democracies and freedom. That and his boy Biden taking forever to get out of bed.
I imagine that if DLS had handled the Cuban Missile Crisis we would all be extinct by now. No way Russia would ever allow Ukraine to be
protected andarmed by Russia’s enemies. Ditto China with Taiwan.Understand that simple fact and you know that Ukraine and Taiwan are fait accompli with the west too afraid to escalate. The only sticking point with Taiwan is the manufacturing of microprocessors. The west could not really GAF about Ukraine.
and lol to the dumbass Ukrainians who gave up their nuclear missiles in return for “guaranteed protection” by Russia and the USA.
indeed … fucken muppets.
I doubt even Vlad would be mad enough to invade Ukraine if they had a small nuclear arsenal and there was a chance that they would use it to flatten Moscow or Petersburg because “hey, fuck you!”
Which sovereign power would ever allow that its smaller neighbour is armed by (imaginary) arch-enemy.
Imagine ruskies arming Mexico with S300 let alone S400 or giving them stingers, Kamov helicopters… yeah, nah, that would be on St Never’s day.
The fact that it took ruskies so long to react is a mix of restrains and insecurity.
“essentially his interpretation is use it as an excuse to start a Cold War with China”
Lol, for him even bad weather is an excuse for starting the cold war with China.
Of course, sending someone else’s kids to become cannon fodder…
Hospital in Kiev has been taken out by Putin. 43 people have been murdered. This a crime against humanity.

The numbers just rose to 67 victims from this hospital bombing…
Still doesn’t work.
Did you click on the link I provided?
I just tested it again.
Freddy’s link is embedding tags and needs to be truncated
Yes, your hyperlink doesn’t work for me. “Picture not found”
can you do a screenshot?
This seems like propaganda / staged to me
looks like the windows are still intact which should be the first thing to shatter
It’s the hospital Obama bombed back in 2015!
Yep.
i can see that now. But kinda wish I didn’t
It’s not even a proper fake, hence a satire.
The room is clearly not a hospital, the table is a scrap, windows like that cannot be in theatre environment….
At best this is that place in Albania where they were harvesting organs for wealthy Se- -mites.
.
Words that need splicing are marked with a splicing sign “-“
is that kermit the frog under the board there?
Don’t believe anything you hear/read from the same media that said covid was the black death rebooted and that they is no way out of this except vaccines and that the vaccines are safe and effective based on data that the FDA is fighting tooth and nail to keep from the public
That’s war. Whether it’s real and happened or the more likely propaganda bullshit.
Whether war is a crime against humanity is a discussion for another day and really doesn’t matter because the victor is always the one who gets to decide.
dunno about this bifurcated ukraine theory…as a step[1] in the campaign fair enuff…but as the end of the campaign??? nah
https://twitter.com/michaeldweiss/status/1497095863864205312
Freddy is having a conversation about it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN5Zmq9YTUs
Really sensible discussion!
Once all the hot air and bluster from the media blows over people are going to have to be pragmatic about this.
He was right about the weaknesses of the West. If they continue down their self destruction trajectory, then they wont need to worry about the Russians or the Chinese.
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1497253139837190144.html
.
Let’s be honest, the Democrats needed this war. They were on a hiding to nothing in the mid terms. It seems that people do not buy the woke manifesto. Surely there is something that they could tie the GOP to. Oh yes, Putin. It doesn’t matter that the Russian meddling was fabricated, but they will still pin them together.
Can somebody post a link explaining the Russia Ukraine situation from a contrarian / black pill realpolitik perspective
like why the Russians did it etc
I don’t really know anything about it but I feel like Putin probably had reasons, and he isn’t insane / Hitler
is it morally or strategically worse than the US invasion of Afghanistan / Iraq , for instance
https://youtu.be/TqVCMZdnb3k
it doesnt require an article
russia doesnt want ukraine in nato, considers it a threat to its security interests, also considers ukraine its “sphere of influence” and ukranians and russians as an inseparable people
ukraine refused to compromise with russia and steamrolled ahead with its “we’re gonna join nato and ur just bluffing, piss off we can do what we want”, russia attempted to diplomatically engage with ukraine since december, no result
russia just said fuck it and went in
that’s it really; ukraine is paying for its intransigence and arrogance
ukraine joining nato to russia would be like if south carolina was an independent country and joined al-queda
it is much more reasonable than the invasion of iraq which was just idiotic and likely nefarious, afghanistan was arguably more reasonable though imo
When you say Ukraine is paying for its intransigence
are we really talking about a corrupt, us/euro puppet government ?
like hunter Biden associates
or that was the popular/democratically decided course of action supported by its people
i have no idea, i think they were in control of their own decisions. they wanted in to nato, russia didnt want that for obvious reasons (moscow is within striking distance of the ukrainian border), ukraine assumed they were untouchable and steamrolled ahead, now they’re fkd six ways from sunday.
A good explanation by Stan Grant at ABC (unbelievable, eh?):
Russia’s Ukraine invasion is not just about borders or power. For Putin, it’s about identity
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-02-25/russia-ukraine-invasion-borders-power-vladimir-putin-identity/100858372
I’m pretty sure that Stewie would agree with Grants’ analysis of western society 🙂
The MSM narrative is basically that Putin is a psycho who wants Ukraine back into an expanded Soviet empire.
The Grayzone and other “non corporate” media have pointed out that since the coup in 2014, the Ukrainian army got co opted by ultra nationalist forces including unabashed neo Nazis. The Donbass regions claimed their own sovereignty and we’re shelled by these forces for not being “real” Ukrainians and were asking for Russian help. Allegedly some 10,000 locals died at the hands of these forces.
The recent talks about Ukraine coming into NATO were a red line for Putin. Also, in the intervening 8 years, USA, France and UK sent USD$600 million worth of weapons into the Ukraine, and this apparently tipped Putin into action.
The claim from Russian state press and announcements is that the peoples of Donbass were ignored by the west, as was Putin’s demands for no NATO expansion. With Nord stream 2 complete, the hashed withdrawal of US from Afghanistan and the winter Olympics finished, it was “time” to test Europe and NATO and to “make a point.”
Not condoning or condemning anything, this is the alt perspective I have seen.
that too. there’s allegations of persecution and violence against ethnic russians in eastern ukraine and the big bear is coming to save the day. not sure which parts of it are propaganda and which are real though.
So do the people of Ukraine want to be part of Russia ?
or the current government is a puppet / not democratically representative
that would seem to me to be the key moral question
some do some dont. most will eventually over time imo because russia will be a lot less corrupt (which is saying a lot) than the current crooks in power there.
It’s hard to say definitively… Putin has said he has no intentions of seizing control of Ukraine and he wants “neutrality” from them in return.
Their claimed incursion is to strike military sites only. 2/3 of Ukraine can speak Russian and 1/7 of their population are natively Russian…
Zelensky has pronounced that Europe and NATO have abandoned him and they are.left to fight alone.
I think (and hope) the Russian mission is to seize all western supplied weapons, get Zelensky to concede and then return home having achieved their objectives.
Seems like that would be asking for trouble by Putin
he’s called the west’s bluff and gotten away with it
once
if he leaves after this , you could surely guarantee that anti Russian govt would sweep to power with bolstered western support
If he doesn’t want to reunite the Soviet state, he needs to at least install a puppet government and keep them militarily/intelligence backed/controlled I would think ?
What you boys are suggesting are not mutually exclusive options.
having a short and successful campaign, then declaring victory and leaving while making sure that the next regime behaves like a client state seems like an attractive and elegant outcome.
the alternative of occupying or annexing territory exposes Russia to the risk of ongoing guerilla warfare and permanently brands Putin and Russia as an aggressor/occupier.
If it was that easy, USA would have left Afghanistan and Iraq years (decades) ago
Presuming that was an objective in the first place.
From unfettered chaos more profits can be extracted than from puppeteering a gov.
Name one country that US invasion or bombardment brought long lasting peace…
germany and japan.
The Cuban Missile Crisis is a better example. USA did not want short range nuclear missiles in Cuba pointed at them, and were prepared to start a nuclear war over it. Ukraine (and Taiwan) will never be permitted to be armed.
You can be sure that USA and their allies will not dare push the point. Also the European countries have a lot more to lose if they were to seriously sanction Russia.
https://twitter.com/MichaelAArouet/status/1497142066769547267
Also, Ukraine were nuclear armed after the breakup of the Soviet Union and the dumbasses agreed to give up their missiles in exchange for protection from Russia and USA.
It would be very ballsy to actually use the nukes, the russians could tactical nuke the entire country without too much collateral damage to themselves, and quite possibly have a shiteload of chemical and biological stuff that could be used. That is a button that can’t be unpushed and I really doubt they would have pushed it if they had it, and they knew it hence why they gave them up.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis
kruschev won his objective
and putin is informed by this
The same reason the US got REALLY upset during the cuban missile crisis…
https://www.rt.com/russia/550493-ukraine-donbass-military-operation-prehistory/
God these fucking virtue signallers do my head in. Everyone is now banning Russian products and divesting their Russian investments. Like any of them had any!
These same do-gooders just spent the month of February celebrating the Chine$e Olympics, I guess the systematic slaughter of minorities isn’t enough for anyone to actually boycott Chinese goods, as that would actually effect them.
italy hasnt even banned russian luxury exports like diamonds lmao
https://fashionunited.com/news/business/italy-s-luxury-sector-and-belgium-s-diamond-leaders-say-no-to-russian-sanctions/2022022546111
nobody actually gives a fuk
Yep hypocrites.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis
“Secretly, the United States agreed that it would dismantle all of the Jupiter MRBMs, which had been deployed in Turkey against the Soviet Union.”
u.s. hawks spanked by kruschev.
imo, given this recent history, putin is not leaving ukraine and russia will persist in ukraine when putin is dead
Interesting
“What kind of ideological viagra would get you priapic enough to support going to war for our government?” LOL.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=595Esg6Mz0U
Any good recommendations for real news sites about this conflict? Obviously I can’t take anything in the MSM seriously.
Is the Ukranian president even in the country? He’s being portrayed as some sort of hero but the only footage I’ve seen it looks like he’s filming on a cell phone in front of a green screen. Direct from Davos?
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1497253139837190144.html
That’s a good article. We have learned nothing from the last 2 years with regards to having redundancy in our systems, whether logistics, health or energy and not too much over reliance on 1 trade partner for anything.
The energy crisis that we are facing is entirely of our own creation.
This is comedy gold, ABC’s The Drum talking about the problem of disinfornation. What a wankfest, they’re saying you have to go to credible sources like the ABC, BBC, and CNN 😂
Does anyone watch The Drum? I put it in the bucket of things like Q&A: the unwatchable category.
putin is animated..nothing is off the table I fear …

Putin realises that it existential for Russia. If he doesn’t take control of it now he will be only postponing the hardship from a weaker position.
Gosh, it’s good to live in a democracy…..you know….freedom of speech, access to information….all that sort of stuff:
Australia suspends RT broadcast
https://www.rt.com/russia/550700-australia-suspends-rt-broadcast/
I remember during one of the more heated moments of the Iranian situation that the same thing happened to the Iranian satellite channel “Press TV”.
Fortunately, RT is still available on Intelsat 19 (Ku band) and Asiasat 7 (C band), as well as RT.com on the ‘net (for now).
For those wanting comprehensive information on what’s happening in Ukraine, RT provides a reasonably warts-and-all coverage.
What is it that they say about the first casualty of war?
More fake news….looks like it’s endemic these days:
Moscow and Kiev issue update on Ukrainian border guards reported killed
https://www.rt.com/news/550717-snake-island-guards-surrendered/
snake sland is b.s, most of the things you’re hearing coming out of ukraine is propaganda. just assume it’s the fog of war; there were also reports today that the ukranians shot down a russian transport plane. there’s absolutely no evidence of it.
I’d be willing to bet the brave sapper who blew himself up on the bridge was actually shot while deserting or fell and hit his head something, and they dumped his body on the bridge and blew it to make a hero of him.
There’s a picture of an apartment building supposedly hit by an airstrike. There’s an identical pic from 2018 saying it had suffered a gas explosion. Etc etc….
And even though the Snake Island rebuttal was posted on RT yesterday, today we have this, posted only 47 minutes ago, on “our ABC”:
As Russian tanks roll in and bombs rain down, Ukrainians urge resistance on social media

I am eager to see what happens to SWIFT, will it shitt where it eat.
Weaponising currency is one level but weaponising finance after a tantrum is a whole new game changer. Not because Ruskies will suffer, but because once that is on the table, no other country is safe (apart from just a handful of hard core sycophants). Perhaps this is the end game, encroachment by adoption of crypto… which should make one think twice if crypto is not just another tool, like Goggle
Love the smell of the multipolar world in the morning. There will be death and dead, but by far less in any other alternative where there are no moderators on the scene.
Yes the SWIFT action against Russia will set a precedent which might make some other countries ask is this worth the risk of being in the club.
It is the nuclear option which can only be used once against Russia and I’m surprised that they have used it. My guess is they want to collapse their own economies and will use the Russian bogey man as a scapegoat.
I’m happy that the globalists have been caught out by this. They can cram their one world government up their ass.
It doesn’t matter. Russia has prepared for this day the US and its puppet states have been threatening to cut them off SWIFT since 2014. The threat was still there last year.
It will matter from international perspective because once that horse bolts – it is gone, sooner or later.
>Every country with some semblance of sovereignty will think about time when the resident bully may see them in its cross-hair (a matter of time, history teaches us)
>Once the alternative method is established, voluntary monopoly has gone forever and the new solution need not be in a single or current reserve currency.
To me, it is an act of accelerated debasement of the reserve currency and one more shot in their own foot. Ukraina denazification mission will end, people will remember it less than the last plandemic, but swift has entered the metastasis phase….
This is a pretty good explanation of the lead up to all this.

I’ve seen the first half so far, I’d like someone to tell me which part is inaccurate description of events that lead to peace restoration operation.
Most things cannot be described accurately. It is the nature of the universe.
In theory everything we know is just a gibberish no different from the time holly books were written as an attempt at documentation of events, I reality, accurate is something that is best described with prevailing techniques. From that premise, I genuinely am interested in where/which are bits that could not stand the prevailing scrutiny methods.
I’ve been offered once the Roman proverb about Jupiter and an ox but that is not an argument…
Great article LSWCHP – pretty much 100% matches my own view on the situation.
There was that thing that existed before Putin’s intervention to denazify Ukraina and its puppet regime (serving you-know-who’s interests)…. some people may still remember it as some sort of flu like thingo that was so bad no one knew how bad it actually was, it was capable to make proven healthy sportsmen become enemy of the state, thus the nation, for not being inoculated against… sorry the name escapes me.
Anyway, apparently (from unverifiable data), this thing has a huge propensity to be very deadly, approximately 7 times more severe for humans whom are double or triple protected against it. UnProtected seem to bode the best to stave off the vicious virus.

Memory hole!
The city’s name in English is Kiev, not Kyiv.
There is a class of people who enjoy nothing more than constantly altering their vocabulary to signal their conscientiousness and erudition. Although in this case it is to signal the person uttering it, is onboard with the Ukraine and its culture suddenly elevated to the point worthy of referring to it in its own language.
Honestly if it matter, with Melbourne’s sizeable Greek population should we be referring to Athens as Athenai? Or Rome as Roma? Heavens if we’re at it why aren’t we referring to Moscow as Moskva? Because presumably Russian culture isn’t suddenly worth signaling our erudition over.
Anglicized names are not a disrespect to the metropolis’s that we designate it – it isn’t a sign of superiority or the god awful cultural colonization that progressives always worry about. It is simply how you say the name in English.
Do you think the French signal their cultural simping by calling Londres London? Or the German’s get offended if you refer to them as Germans instead Deutsche.
You’re not expressings solidarity by calling it Kyiv, you’re simping the Globalists.
It’s Kiev.
I thought that KIEV was the name of the new Kia electric vehicle… KI-EV
I see the trend of incorporating the phonetically correct pronunciation of whichever city or people, as spoken in that nations local language as pretentious virtue signaling.
The anglicized names for foriegn cities or people, isn’t a form of cultural appropriation, colonialism or cultural superiority – it is simply how you say the name in Enlish. Demanding that we refer to Bombay as Mumbai is nothing more than simping to MultiCulturalism and the globalist narrative.
You can tell where the interests of the Global elites lie, by their simping towards that particular culture. Come into our sphere of influence and we’ll allow you to use your own honorifics.
The “in’s” have their anglicized names replaced, while the “out’s” still endure the ignominy of cultural domination through the common use of their insulting angelized names.
…too bad that in our simping to China progressive wankers in the Media chose to change Peking to Beijing – Peking was way cooler, and all their simping ultimately came to nothing in the end anyhow.
I mostly agree, Stew.
whats your take on the more subtle distinction between Calcutta and Kolkata?
Arts student wankers signalling their class superiority by shifting the acceptable use of common language, orphaning and disempowering those who aren’t erudite enough to keep up.
Chicken Kiev?
(aka Sleepy Joe Teleprompter)
Kyiv is derived from the Ukrainian. Stop being a fuckwit!
Simp harder.
Honestly, it is nothing but precocious virtue signalling, and is on par with sending ‘thoughts and prayers’ in terms of pointless expressions of solidarity.
Pussies like you would be the first to call Melbourne Naarm if you thought it would it would get you onboard with the manufactured majority narrative.
Mirror.
Stewie the snowflake permanently offended. Go find a safe space cunt, you’re worse than the one’s you whinge about.
The NPC brown shirt has arrived!
What chip has been loaded into your 32bit memory system today? BLM, COVID or Ukraine?
11/10
What’s your next online meltdown/nervous breakdown gnna be about? You’re due for another manic meltdown and seem right on track.
You’re a fucked unit Stewie, have fun winning the meme war and winning at being a useless piece of shit. Your fake wife and daughter are so proud.
I see rewriting history isn’t something limited to Biden and the Democrats. What you refer to the manic meltdown, I remember as one of the funnest flame wars I’ve been a part of in years!
My personal favorite was when you demanded I give you my phone number, so I gave you Mig’s and you called him up like the gullible low IQ shit head you are!

Operational information as of 18:00 on February 27 regarding the Russian invasion
The Russian Federation continues to accumulate aviation equipment and intensify special forces on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
More than 50 planes, 10 helicopters and 2 An-124 planes are concentrated at Machulishi airfield. Transport planes to Ukraine are constantly taking off from Baranovichi and Machulishche airfields.
The Belarusian command has brought some of its units into combat readiness.
Conducting an offensive operation in Ukraine, the Russian occupiers use methods of combat prohibited by international humanitarian law: seize social infrastructure, wear the uniform of the Ukrainian military, police and SES, sabotage special forces use ambulances and police cars stolen from doctors. ambulance stations; terrorists occupy children’s camps and schools, enemy artillery and MLRS are deployed on sports grounds.
Three ambulances with conditional markings of invaders were recently spotted in Kyiv. In the Genichesk district of the Kherson region, the Russian occupiers deployed MSTA-C artillery units in residential buildings. A column is moving in the direction of Makariv-Kyiv, and the enemy has placed children and women on the armored vehicles to cover them.
However, the moral and psychological condition of the occupying forces is low. Near Koryukivka in the Chernihiv region, conscripts of the Russian Armed Forces are ready to lay down their arms and surrender.
Hundreds of disabled armored vehicles and tanks have been abandoned all over Ukraine.
As of 18:00, the loss of enemy personnel amounted to about 4,500 people.
Destroyed and damaged aircraft – 27 units (to be specified), helicopters – 26 units, tanks – about 150, BBM – more than 700, guns – about 50, one SAM BEECH, four MLRS BM-21 Hail, 60 tanks, 2 UAV operational and tactical level, ships, boats – 2 units.
There will be more. The calculation is complicated by the high intensity of hostilities.

2 quotes…same source
“They wont do anything remotely like what happened in Grozny. The evidence thus far suggests that the Russians appear to have gone out of their way to be reasonably ‘nice’ if that can be said about an invading force of Russians”
“Even if Putin were to be shunted – and thats a long way off – the drivers of his attitudes and the interests of Russians wouldn’t change much. Indeed the concern would be what replaces him.”
So….who can credibly rule out a Grozny redux?
nato better be thinking on this
