Reason Party MLC Fiona Patten has entered Victoria Police protection this evening, after deleting all of her social media accounts and disappearing from the internet, claiming ‘trolls.’
However, Patten is believed to have already signed the extension to the state of emergency powers, and has sought Police protection from the impending wave of pitchforks and Molotov cocktails from small business owners directed at her electorate office.
“Ms Patten is currently in police protection and at a secure location,” Commissioner Shane Patton said at a press conference today.
“We’re also taking logical steps such as deleting her social media accounts far enough in advance so people think it’s unrelated to the SOE extension, which has already been signed.”
Patten is the second high-profile Victorian to enter the program, with CFMEU boss John Setka still under Police guard.
